In today's Iraq the climate is really dry. The dust storms make the plants hard to grow. In order to grow a farm they have to get water from the mountains and rivers. Although Iraq is mostly dry in the mountains of the northeast there is permanent vegetation, It means that there is enough water for plants to grow all year round.
Iraq has a federal government with a multi-party system. The President of Iraq and the Prime minister of the Council of Ministers hold the executive power, while the Council of Representatives and the Federation Council. The federal judiciary consists of the Higher Judicial Council, the Supreme Court, the Court of Cassation, the Public Prosecution Department, the Judiciary Oversight Commission, and other federal courts.
"Islamic, democratic, federal parliamentary republic" is the definition of Iraq's federal government under the current Constitution.
The Federal government of Iraq is teamed up of executive, legislative, and judicial branches. In the executive branch, it is the part of government that has sole authority, and responsibility for the daily administration of the state. In the legislative branch, it has the power of to pass, amend, and repeal laws. In the judicial branch, they apply the laws in the name of state. I have learned that Iraq was where the Ancient Mesopotamian civilizations once were. Iraq has a very rich heritage. The country has some great poets, sculptors, painters, etc. They're among the top 5 to create beautiful furniture such as rugs, carpets, etc. Iraq is very good at handicrafts. The 2 most popular languages they have spoken are Arabic and Kurdish. The capital of Iraq is Baghdad (that my cousin visited when he was 3 years old). The currency of the country is Iraqi dinar. The flag's colors are black, red, and white. I also think it's green because there is writing on it in green. The population is about 32,961,959. The title of the national anthem is called Mawtini. Mawtini, in Arabic, means My Homeland.
I has read in some websites that they have two deserts called The Arabian Desert and The Syrian Desert. An interesting fact that I had found was that Mesopotamia means "Land Between The Rivers". It makes sense because it's true that it is the land between the rivers. From all these facts, I did not know that they have the same parliamentary system of government, just like India.
The Iraq climate mainly ranges in the 45 degrees C (120 degrees F) and higher. The summer months are mainly dry and dusty. Sometimes extreme temperatures and humidity can lead to scarcity of water. Other then that the Iraq climate is similar to southwestern United States. This is basically hot summers, cold winters, and a pleasant spring and fall. The western and southern regions of Iraq have cool winters, and hot summers, but they also have violent rainstorms in winter. Sometimes the rain can rise up to 10cm! In the foothill region of Iraq there is barely any rain in the summer. In winter there are only a few short showers of rain. During the night there are mainly dense clouds but this is common for about half the nights. In the plain of the Tigris and Euphrates Delta they receive most of the rain which is accompanied by thunder. In winter the plains are cloudy but in summer it is mainly clear. In the mountains of the north and northeast part of Iraq rain occurs mainly during winter and spring. There is a small amount of rain in summer. In the mountains of the north and northeast of Iraq, the climate is basically warm summers, and cold winters. Rain occurs mainly in winter and spring and small amounts of rain in the summer. In a year there can be 40 to 100cm of rain! A few nights in summer are cloudy but around half of the nights in winter are cloudy.

Iraq climate is not stable and changes very drastically. In the summer mostly July and August the temperature is 48 or a both degrees. While in the winter mostly January the temperature is below freezing. Summer climate is dry with a lot of dust. Dust easily spreads in Iraq because of car movement. In the summer the weather can be extreme because there is scarce water and some regions are desert. There is most rainfall in the winter and autumn were the temperature goes down, and can be really cold. Also its most humid in the winter months in Iraq. In the mountains in northern and northeastern Iraq the winter has minimal rainfall with a lot of precipitation also in the winter the mountains can have snow in the mountains peeks. Nights in summer are usually clear, and in the winter the nights are cloudy with occasional rainfall.
The major religion in Iraq is Islam.About 97% of people from Iraq are Islam. The other 3% is Christianity. There are two major traditions of religion in Iraq Shia and Sunni Islam. The Islamic place of worship is a mosque. The Muslims worship Allah every day but Friday the holy day where the have a special pray called jumm'ah.Allah is the God in Islamic religion. The holy book for the Islam's is the Quran. The Islamic society belives in Allah.
Did you know that 95% Iraqis are Muslim and Islam.Islam came to the region with the victory of the Muslim armies under Caliph Umar over the Sassanians in A.D. 637 at the battle of Al Qadisiyah. Also the thing that I found interesting is that the majority of inhabitants soon became Muslim. There was a small communities of Christians and Jews in so off the small parts of Iraq.
Climate: -90 percent of rainfall occurs between November and April while the rest of the months are dry and June, July and August are very often rain less. -The minimum summer temperatures are 22-29 while the warmest temperatures can go up to 50 degrees Celsius. -Iraq's temperatures can go below freezing in the winter. -Because of the rain shortages and very warm temperatures, most of Iraq became a desert. -The Syrian desert occupies a big part of western Iraq and the Arabian desert covers the southwest part of Iraq.
More than 29 million people live in Iraq. Nearly two thirds of the population is Arab, and almost a quarter are Kurdish. A small percentage are Turkmen, Persian, and Azerbaijani. Islam is the official religion of Iraq; roughly three fifths of the population belong to the Shi'ite branch of Islam, while approximately one third are Sunnite Muslims. There is also a small Christian… Modern Iraq covers almost the same area as ancient Mesopotamia.Mesopotamia, also referred to as the Fertile Crescent, was an important center of early civilization and saw the rise and fall of many cultures and settlements. That's what i read about Iraq's culture.
In July and August the temperature is usually 48 degrees Celsius. In January it's usually below freezing!!! They have hot, dry summers and freezing winter with a nice balanced temperature in May and Autumn. There is usually a dry season where there is humidity and not a lot of water and there is also dust that is made from moving vehicles. Most rainfall that happens is during December through April. Most of Iraq is also very dry!
The major religion in Iraq is Islamic. That is 97% of them and they are followers of the Shia 75% and Sunni 20% the branch. The rest are different religions like Christianity, Yezidis, mandaisms, assyrians and many others. But I want to talk about the Yezidis religion. They are a part of the Kurdish ethnic group. There are not any written documents but it has similarities to some ancient Mesopotamian religions. This is probably because they lived at in the same area and some of the traditions stayed but still some changed or where forgotten over the past. They believe in Melek Taus who is one of the Seven Angles. He is the one who didn't want to bow down to the humans. Other religons say he is the devil because Melek Taus's other name "Shaitan" is the devil's name in the Kuran.
